Reception

Our Reception teacher and Early Years leader is Mrs M Hayes.

We are supported by Mrs S Price, Mrs L Evans and Mrs J McGrath.

Find out about Mrs Hayes:

Hello,

I am the Reception teacher and EYFS Leader here at St Kenelms and I absolutely love it! Having fun and getting messy is my specialism! I believe the Early Years are one of the most important times to lay firm foundations and those attitudes to a love of life long learning.

Having the opportunity to be part of the development of our nursery has been exciting, as is leading phonics, reading and working with Parents. I always look forward to Parent workshops, Share-a-session and face painting at our HSA events.

On a personal note, I am a family first person, enjoying quality time with my now grown-up children. I have a mischievous labrador who takes me for some lovely walks! My interests include yoga, mindfulness and the performing arts, enjoying live music, dancing and the musicals.

Find out about Mrs Price:

Hi, my name is Samantha Price. I am the class LSA in Reception.

I was lucky to join St Kenelm's in September 2019 having previously worked in Primary Education for over 17 years and also in private day nurseries for 10 years.

I love working with all children, but particularly in Early Years. It's a privilege to watch them grow and thrive in the inspiring, nurturing, learning environment that we as a team create. Outside of school I enjoy walking my dog, spending time with my family and creating memories.

Find out about Mrs Evans:

Hi, Im Lisa and I joined St Kenelm's as an LSA in December 2019. Before I came to St Kenelm's I was working at another school in Dudley where I had been for the past 3 years. I really enjoy working with children of all ages and abilities, either in a class group or providing 1-1 support where needed.

On a personal note I live in Halesowen with my husband. We have three boys, 24,19 and 8 and two dogs, so we have a very busy household. In my spare time I enjoy keeping fit, shopping and crafting.

Find out about Mrs McGrath:

Hi, I am Mrs McGrath. I joined St Kenelm's in September 2019 as a Teaching Assistant in Reception. I work every afternoon in Reception and then afterwards in Afterschool Club where I am known as 'Jo'. I am married and have a son who is 9, a daughter who is 7 and a dog called Connie who is 3. When I am not in school I enjoy walking, swimming and pilates. I love to spend time as a family going on walks with Connie an on holidays in Wales and if I have time I love, love, love going on a spa day!
