SHIRES School Meals

 School Meals 2023-2024

Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are eligible for universal free school meals until the end of Year 2. Children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 may have a hot school meal if they wish for a cost of £2.40 per day.

The process for ordering school meals is as follows:

School meals are currently paid for by cash* (unfortunately Worcestershire County Council will soon be discontinuing the receipt of cheques). 

Payments should be made by Wednesday each week and a week in advance of the school meal(s) required. 

* Cash should be placed in a sealed envelope marked clearly ‘school meals’ with your child’s name and year group and the day and date of each meal required.  Please place any payments into the outside post box situated to the left of the main school reception entrance. This post box should be used in the mornings only because it will be emptied after registration. For security reasons please do not place any money in the post box at the end of the school day as it will only be emptied in the mornings, thank-you. 

Not all children choose to have school meals and some prefer to bring their own packed lunch. So that we know how many meals to order on a daily basis, the class teacher will ask each child during registration whether they require a meal. If you know that your child will not be present for morning registration, please inform the school office before 9am that day so that an order can be placed.
